The HOT Weekend

I know that for most of you, this summer has been HOT. But for us here in the beautiful, pacific NW, 80 on a summer day is HOT.

Well, this weekend has been HOTTER. In the 90s two days in a row.

Saturday we had planned to hike, but both girls suffered from high fevers and a bit of something this week, so we canceled the hike. Plan B was to sail, but there was too much wind. So we had the kind of day that drives Kevin crazy....we were home....ALL DAY.  (Excpet for a few errands we ran - great family fun)

Sunday we saw the the wind forecast was lower, so after church we planned to sail. We hit the water and there was just enough wind to sail. The girls were eager to try out our new inner tube.

It worked very well for about 5 minutes. And then we lost all wind.

There was nothing.

Nada.

So we did a lot of this.....

We took turns cooling off in the river

There was even a point when Kayleigh was the only one on the boat. Thank God we had a motor and could get back in to the boat launch!

So that's how we cooled off. This week is supposed to be a tiny bit cooler, but not much.
