Sydney the Artist

Our Sydney is quite the artist and she has her own style of drawing. We find drawings in every room of the house almost every day! Most are not colored in like this example, but all are full of amazing details. This is one of the characters of the Mistmantle books - Crispin. He is the king of Mistmantle and in his hand in the heartstone. (Crispin is a squirrel)

Anyway, yesterday we were reading about mosaics in history and I got the brilliant idea that we could make paper mosaics. Pretty quickly I had flashbacks to my childhood. Very often Aaron and I would be doing art projects together - even going to art classes together - and my creations paled in comparison. Now my creations pale in comparison to my 7 year old daughters. I won't post my mosaic pumpkin, but let's just say that making a round, orange object isn't all that exciting compared to the lizard Syd made.

That's a fly coming down. And the red part - that's his dulap. And don't you love the two shades of green she used. She's talented, that one! Shoot - you should hear her play the violin! She's got creativity flowing through her veins.

  1. She's the type of person who will be good at anything she tries. She's so gifted, smart & talented. I'm amazed at the details she puts in her drawings- they're incredible! She definitely does not get her artist ability from the Foley side of the family!!
