The Foley Fort

Sunday was our only day of the long holiday weekend to get out and into the woods. It was the only day with decent weather. We let the girls pick where we would hike and they chose to return to the site of a fort we first built almost 2 years ago. We've returned a couple times in between, and the fort is always still there.

Here's what it looked like when we got there...

We decided to build a new one in a new location ~ make it bigger and on more level ground. This is what we came up with.

So we hung out for a while. Made some hot chocolate, relaxed in the fort and hammocks and enjoyed the view (it looks out to the Columbia River).

Then we had to hurry back home so the girls could make it to their musical practice at church. They are participating in the annual Christmas musical our children's ministry puts on.
