From My Kitchen

We haven't done anything super exciting yet this year.

The girls are back to school.

The sun has been shining, but the wind has been blowing (you haven't seen wind until you've been here in Troutdale, OR. We were warned about the wind when we moved here. Apparently the wind whips down the Columbia River Gorge and rips its way through this town. People chain their garbage cans to their fences to keep them from blowing away).

All these pictures are from my kitchen. This first one here was the last photo I took of 2012. We were celebrating by having whipped cream on our breakfast.

The rest of the photos were taken today. It seems all the interesting action took place in the kitchen. First with all the animal visitors....

Certainly we aren't the only ones who have horses and dragons that come to breakfast.

This evening as I was preparing dinner I suddenly found myself with two kitchen helpers. I gave them free reign of the kitchen to prepare appetizers.

At one point I noticed Sydney helping herself to dishes (yes...that's her foot on the counter!)

  2. So glad to see you're encouraging the girls to use their culinary skills! The appetizers look scrumptious! Did the dragons and horses partake in the delicacies also?
Grandma Dee Dee - I'm jealous you get to hug our girls so soon!! How wonderful!!
