Book 1 Graduation

Last week (Thursday), both Sydney and Kayleigh completed 100 days of violin practice (in a row). They have improved SO MUCH over the past few months. Although Sydney finished Book 1 several months ago, we decided to have an official Book 1 graduation while Grandma and Grandpa Redman were here.

Kayleigh's new violin came on Wednesday and she was excited to be able to play her new, better violin.

I created a stage for them and they put on special concert dresses. Then, taking turns, they played through the entire book for us.

It really was one of my proudest mama moments. It was such a joy to watch them and listen to them play. They each have their own strengths and each has worked so hard. I'm so glad I didn't listen to myself - I used to say I would never teach my kids to play violin. I'm so thankful I can share this with them.

When I offered to let them take some time off practicing, neither wanted to. So now we are on day #102.

Here is a video of the girls playing Twinkle together...
