Weekend Update

We spent some time here and there this weekend working on the bathroom re-do. We even put Sydney to work for a while. It's such a small bathroom that it's hard for more than one person to be in there at the same time!

Today we began laying the tile. I tried to help, but mostly it was Kevin who did the work. I just stood outside the door and handed him whatever he needed. Oh and I ran to Lowe's to buy more tile when we ran out.

Meanwhile the girls took advantage of the sun and played out front on their scooters and such.

Meanwhile I went upstairs and took a nap because I've been feeling sick all day. It's not a good week for me to be down so I'm trying to rest and lay low so it doesn't get worse.

I'm having 10 people over for dinner tomorrow and I realized we don't have a functioning bathroom on the main level. Of course they are welcome to use the bathroom upstairs, but for some reason my girls haven't figured out how to put toothpaste on a toothbrush and it manages to get in the strangest places. Hopefully I'll remember to check that bathroom before the guests arrive.

Why am I having 10 people over for dinner? It's my team members for the mission trip to Mexico. Our trip is 2 months away (we leave April 24th) and we've got some team building  and trip planning to do! I'm excited that this thing is really happening. And I'm really excited to be returning to all the kids at the ranch. It's even more exciting to be going with my brothers and sisters from church and to have our church body supporting us. I've never done anything like this before - plan and lead a short-term mission trip - so I would greatly appreciate your prayers.

  1. The bathroom will look so nice! That's a good winter project.
How exciting that you're going to Mexico again! I know how much you loved your last trip there. It's wonderful that you'll be bringing your brothers & sisters from your church this time!
Hope your dinner was a success!
