As you may or may not know, we tackled our first remodeling project a couple weeks ago. We officially decided to stay in this house for a while longer, and thought it was a good idea and good time to make some updates to this very 1990s house.
We started with the 1/2 bath on the main floor. It's the smallest space and needed it the most. Notice the "wavy" linoleum in the corner and the dated tile on the vanity.
BEFORE
We took everything out and started all over. The only things we kept were the toilet (new toilet seat) and the light (which we spray painted). Everything else is new.
New paint, new tile floor, new floor boards and trim, new mirror, new vanity....
AFTER
I'm quite pleased with the results. I'm not very good about knowing what I like or what I want. I think I do, but then I get to a store like Lowe's and begin looking. I find there's very little I DON'T like, which makes the decision making hard for me. I start to over-think. Thankfully, Kevin's the opposite and decide quickly.
Moving on to the girls bathroom.....As much as I like the color yellow, I was not liking their bathroom anymore. Then I realized it was the shower curtain I was tired of. After 10 years and 6 houses, I decided to splurge and buy a new one.

And this is our next project....the master bathroom. We are going to tile this one too (right now it's carpeted in the area around the sinks and tub).
We're still trying to come up with a way to creatively get rid of this lovely tile detail around the sinks. We aren't going to replace this cabinet/ vanity, but want to update it.
It looks great! Can't wait to come and try it out!
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way about making decorating decisions- I have a very hard time picturing what it will look like so I over-think too. You did a beautiful job.
Really nice rooms!!! Great job and Kevin and you are still friends!!!!
