Day at the Coast

We are having amazing weather here in the pacific northwest this weekend. We took advantage of the sunshine and temps in the 70s and headed to the coast. With the combination of fantastic weather and spring break, we knew we needed to get to the trailhead early in order to get a parking spot and beat the crowds down to the beach. So we left the house at 7:30 am and were at the trailhead by 9:30.

We had a lovely 1.8 mile hike down and were on the beach shortly after 10. We arrived at low tide, which was ideal, and had a great time exploring the many, many tide pools. Kevin found a couple new to us species and think they might be types of nudibranch.

We stayed for 3 hours enjoying the sun, playing frisbee, practicing karate, finding sand dollars, eating cheetos and exploring tide pools. Then we hiked back up and set off to find ice cream. We stopped at Tillamook, but it was crazy busy. I usually don't mind lines, but even I wasn't up for this line.

Anyway, enjoy the pics...
