Last year when I was at El Rancho de los Ninos, I felt God nudging me to come back and bring a team from my church. So that's what I'm doing.
There are 10 of us total - 5 of us have been before and 5 are new to el Rancho.
We leave first thing Wednesday morning (5:30 am) and will arrive by noon. While we are there we will do work projects around the orphanage, spend time with the residents and even take them to the beach on Sunday. I'm taking my violin again and hope to have another campfire serenade, as well as play in the local church on Sunday morning.
Please....keep us in your prayers. Pray for our safety, pray for our health, pray that God would break our hearts for what breaks His. Pray that we would speak love and encouragement to the kids who live at the orphanage as well as to the faithful few who work there.
And pray for Kevin and the girls. Oh how I would love to be a fly on the wall in my house over the next 6 days! Kevin will try to work from home and I've assembled lots and lots of worksheets for them to do to cover school.
I've been making a list of things I need to do before I go. But yesterday I started making a list of things I don't need to do....(I don't have to mow the lawn - Kevin can do that! I don't need to move the lilac bushes I planted last fall - I can do that when I get back!)
Anyway, if it seems quiet here in this space, now you know why. I know some of you love it when I leave because Kevin will take over. I don't know if that will happen or not....we'll see how bored he gets.
Hasta la vista
