Hiking Mt. St. Helens and Turning 40

We celebrated Kevin's 40th birthday with a hike. We haven't done a lot of hiking around the Mt. St. Helens area, and decided to head that way yesterday. It was a gorgeous day - sunny, clear blue skies.

The hike itself wasn't all that spectacular. We had one quick glimpse of the mountain and saw a waterfall at June Lake.

We got to spot where it looked like if we left the trail and climbed up some rocks a bit we would have a great view. So we did climb up and we did have a great view!

Then we decided to climb up even higher for an even better view!

From this higher spot we could see Mt. Adams

Kevin wanted to do a funny perspective picture where it looked like he was holding the mountain in his hand. I didn't get it right (at all), but I did get a funny shot.

And Kayleigh wanted to do a "find Kayleigh and Kevin" photo.

After our hike we got a bite to eat at a pub.

Then we came home and ate grasshopper pie.

And today we are tired.
