The Garden in September

I think September is my favorite month - at least now that we live here in Oregon. We have beautiful weather, the garden is gorgeous and fall is just around the corner.

My sunflowers....oh my goodness....they are so, so pretty.

And the marigolds and zinnias are gorgeous, too. I think some of them think they are sunflowers because they are getting so tall!

The other day I was out taking photos (like I do most days) and I saw this guy! I was so happy to see him again. I think (assume) it's the one we hatched and have seen several times this summer -each time a little bigger, but I could be wrong.

Here are some overall views.....check out the really tall sunflower!

Do you like the tomato plant growing out of the side of my herb garden? Last year one grew between the planter and the patio, this year it's growing out between the boards of the planter.

And we see hummingbirds daily - such a nice treat! (better than skunks, that's for sure- but I see them quite often too.)

  1. Your yard and garden look gorgeous! September is one of my very favorites for many of the reasons you stated and also because my only son was born then!
