On our last full day of vacation we had three priorities...
The first was to visit Shelburne Farms. We have great memories of visiting this beautiful farm and home and wanted to return with the kids. We had a gorgeous day and the girls loved it.
Every half hour or so, they have a special something for kids. We happened to be just in time for the daily chicken parade. This just means they open the door to the chicken coop and the chickens walk down the plank and then are free to roam the grounds. We were told we could pick them up if we wanted to, and several in our party did...
After looking around at the barn, we headed back to the house. There is no way to get there except to walk....unless you are a hotel guest and then you can drive back. So we walked...and walked...and walked. Finally we got to the house, which sits right at the edge of Lake Champlain.
Then we had to walk back to the car.
Our next destination was Colchester Point. It's an old railroad track that is now a bike path. It goes out between Mallets Bay and the main body of Lake Champlain and once you get out a bit, you have water on both sides of the path. It's beautiful. We didn't walk very far because we had walked so much already and we were all getting tired.
All the girls stayed the night with Grandma and Grandpa Hall and Kevin and I had a night alone in Burlington. We went to a wine tasting, got dessert and just enjoyed walking Church Street at night - oh the memories!
We got up early and headed over to the other hotel to pick up the girls and head to the airport.
And that was our big adventure!
Again, what super pictures!!! such good memories for me too! Grandpa and Grandma Hall look great! such fun for you all
