The Glass Museum in Tacoma

We woke up early on Saturday and headed north to check out the sights and sounds of Tacoma (a city just south of Seattle). We'd heard good things about the glass museum so that was our first stop.

Inside this huge dome building is a "hot shop" where a team of glass artists demonstrate and create.

You can sit and watch them blow glass and it's quite cool.

The "narrator" gave the girls a personal demonstration of blowing glass.

Then we walked through the display galleries and saw all sorts of interesting things.

My favorite part was the Chihuly bridge outside. There were two of these sculptures and two other display areas you walked through.

The rest of the day we walked around and explored. We went to a botanical garden and park, but I"ll share those pics in a different post. This was the view from our hotel room....that's Mt. Rainier.
