Saturday evening it started icing....it wasn't snowing and it wasn't raining...it was ice falling from the sky.
It did this all night and we woke up to a world covered in ice.
Church was cancelled and we had no where to go. Surprisingly, we even had power!
This shot is looking up the side of our house....
We decided to venture out and walk up to the grocery store area - see what, if anything, was open. We put some crampons on our boots and headed out. About halfway there we texted some friends who live near the winery/brewery. We decided to head there and meet them for lunch. It was 2.7 miles one way, but fun to "hike" through our own town.
We saw places, like this fence below, where the ice was at least an inch thick. Crazy!
And now I'm cold and need a refill on hot tea!
that's ALOT OF ICE INCREDIBLE
ReplyDeleteenjoyed all the pics thanks for sharing what is happening in your part of the country!
Only you could make an ice storm look so glorious! So glad you didn't lose power! I saw the reports on the news of the storm in Portland-so glad you embraced the beauty!
