We finally got out of the house this weekend and hit the trails...it's been too long! We have a weekend son...our friends went to a marriage retreat and we are watching their son, Josiah. He doesn't do a lot of hiking, so we showed him what it was like to be a Foley.
There were some cool fungi and lichen and moss to look at on the trail.
But the real show stoppers were the four waterfalls we passed. Because of all the snow and ice melt and the rain we've been getting, they were raging.
This one especially....usually there is just a little water and the trail goes right through it. Today there was too much for the kids to cross. Kevin and I both crossed, but we have heavy duty, waterproof boots. There was so much mist and water spray that we got quite wet crossing it!
We stopped for a snack, took in some more views and then headed to a different place.
Despite the chilly temps, this slug was out enjoying a leaf.
Have you ever seen a slug eat? I hadn't either, but I have a video you can watch. It's really boring.
What beautiful pictures!!! Looks like a great place to hike wish I could with you!!!
