Waterfall Field Trip

This past Thursday we had beautiful weather and nothing on our calendar so we took an impromptu trip to some local waterfalls.

Our first stop was Bridal Veil Falls.  This one is probably the closest to our house and has such a short hike that we've never bothered to stop. It was beautiful and I'm so glad we went!

We spotted this cobweb just full of baby spiders. I wish my pics had turned out better.

Our next stop was Multnomah Falls - the biggest and most popular waterfall in Oregon. You can see this from the interstate and it's always crowded...even on a weekday. This past winter some rocks fell and damaged the bridge so the trail to the top has been closed. It reopened this past week and so we hiked to the top. Compared to other hikes, this one is not that great. There aren't really good views of anything and the top of the falls are quite unspectacular.

At the top...

Then we had to head to my violin student's house for a lesson. They invited us out to their house because they have a horse, 2 donkeys and 56 chickens. My girls LOVED playing with all the animals!
