More From our Weekend

Sunday after church we headed to Hood River for wine tasting and dinner.

Since the girls can't have wine and they were so patient with us, they got frozen yogurt - dessert before dinner!

We ended up eating outside at a wine/beer/cider tasting place. They have a food cart with several options and it was delicious.

Monday Kevin had to work so the rest of us headed to the Oregon Zoo. I was thinking it would be fairly quiet there, with schools still in session, but forgot to take into consideration the likelihood that there would be field trip groups there. It was so crowded!

When we approached the lion area, there was a big sign warning us that there was a carcass feeding in session. It was actually cool to see in a gruesome, natural kind of way. There were two different carcasses hanging and the lions all took turns feeding.

After the zoo we headed to the rose garden because Portland is the Rose City and the roses bloom most beautifully in June. It was beautiful and smelled heavenly!

And also....our neighbors got a brand new puppy. Willow is a cocker spaniel and is 8 weeks old. She's so, so cute! She reminds me of Newton when we first got him. It was hard to get a good pic of her since she's black.
