Sunriver with Grandparents

Grandma and Grandpa Hall were here to visit and we were able to spend a couple days down in Sunriver. The weather was perfect and we had lots of fun.

We went on many walks and bike rides, played ping-pong, soaked in the hot tub and ate good food.

The girls always like to visit the horses and these guys came right up to the fence so we could get a closer look and say hi.

We also went for a hike along the Deschutes River to Benham Falls.

On Saturday we stopped at Lava Butte for a look around, before heading back to Portland. You can drive to the top for some pretty impressive views of the lava field, and then you can also walk around the lava fields below. It's quite surreal to see that much lava and to see how devastating and desolate the area is after a volcanic eruption. The most recent eruption was 1300 years ago and there is still very little life.
