What We've Been Up To

I didn't realize it had been more than a week since my last post. Here's a glimpse of what we've been up to....

I went upstairs one morning this week to say hello to Sydney and found her like this.

We enjoyed a boat ride with our neighbors...It was just the girls and I, and Larry the neighbor. He let each girl drive a bit and it was fun.

The girls have been catching frogs and one day I found them "racing" them.

We said goodbye to Marlennis. She's from the Dominican Republic and has been studying environmental technology at the local community college. When she was younger she was a sponsored child through Compassion. It's been fun to get to know her and have her in our home for both Thanksgiving and Easter. We are hopeful that when we go to the DR, she'll be our local contact, tour guide and translator!

Poppies....there is a house we drive by almost every day that has quite a wild garden growing. We pulled over one day and got a closer look. They are so pretty and it's pretty cool to see a large number of them growing.

We signed up for our library's summer reading program. Kayleigh made her own reading program for me and I already earned my first prize ($ .26 she'd taken out of the drawer).

On Father's Day we went to a local women and children's shelter and served dinner.

Still playing violin every day. The girls and I leave Sunday for Suzuki institute for a week!

The girls spend a lot of time in this tree in the swamp. I can often hear them singing songs from Frozen.

And frogs...lots and lots of little frogs in our yard right now!
