On Saturday Kevin and I and our good friend, Tabby, ran in the Cause and Event race. You know how every race has a cause? Well...this race has every cause. You get to choose your cause and half of your registration $ goes to that cause. We, of course, chose Compassion. Along the route there were signs of every cause that was being represented.
This picture is to show you that Tabby and I ran twice the difference that Kevin ran.
Kevin ended up placing 2nd in the "master's division" of the 5K. (Masters division is a nice way of saying 40+ year olds). I placed 3rd in the master's division of the 10K. I guess at this point it pays to be 40...
About an hour after the race I started feeling sick, and sure enough by the time we got home I had a head cold. So the rest of Saturday was pretty lazy.
Sunday was Kevin's birthday and it started off with an early morning trip to get donuts. Kevin preached at church, so we were there all morning (both services). He's getting really good at this preaching thing - I think it might be his new calling. He's a great teacher and with his sense of humor, he can really keep an audience engaged.
After church we headed to a friend's house for a BBQ and ate so much we ruined our birthday dinner plans. But we managed to have room for pie. I still wasn't feeling great so I didn't take many pics.
Anyway...he's 41 now and still as handsome and wonderful as always - maybe even a little more so!
Of course, I'm prejudiced, but I couldn't agree with you more! Happy Birthday Kevin!!! Love you!!!
ReplyDeleteWish we could hear him preach! Hope you are feeling better and Kevin had a good b-day! I love that idea for a race- you pick the cause- bc so many times a cause doesn't have a race! awesome!
ReplyDeleteI agree too Kevin just keeps getting better and better!!
