Zoo Lights

Ever since we moved here five years ago, I've been hearing about the great experience that is called "zoo lights". Basically, the zoo puts up a crazy amount of light displays and stays open late between Thanksgiving and New Years.

We tried to go earlier this month, but it was crazy busy - no where to park and the line to the shuttle parking lot was quite long. We'd heard that some people wait 2 hours just to park and get into the zoo. So we turned around and decided we'd experience zoo lights another night.

Last night was that night. We got there early and managed to find parking in the overflow lot (not the shuttle lot). It was crazy busy...so busy that I'm not sure I ever would go back. It probably didn't help that my ankle was hurting quite bad and I limped through the entire display. (Today I went to the dr. and got a cool walking boot!)

Anyway...here are some photos. Some of these are blurry...it was intentional. It's a photography/lighting effect called bokeh and I really like it.
