In just a little more than a week I'll be on my way to Nicaragua. I am really looking forward to this trip.
My mom has been wanting to meet one of her Compassion kids and go on a trip with me. We both sponsor kids in Kenya, India and Nicaragua. Kenya and India are both so far and so expensive that it seemed Nicaragua was the more reasonable choice.
A couple years ago Kevin went to Nicaragua with our good friends, Jonas and Barbi. They go annually to do mission work and have many connections down there. They also speak fluent Spanish and know their way around.
I asked if my mom and I could join them this year and they said yes! Originally Barbi wasn't going to go down this year, but now she is. I'll fly to Houston and meet my mom there (and visit with the family there for 12 hours).
While we are there we'll do two things....first we'll meet our kids! I'll get to meet Josseling (whom we've sponsored for 12 years now) and Kendry (whom we just started sponsoring). My mom will get to meet Kerlint (who was born the same day as Sydney) and Maria (whom she just started sponsoring). I'm not sure what our day with them will look like, but we'll definitely get to visit the Compassion project where they attend.

So if you think of us, say a prayer for our time there. And also pray for Kevin and the girls who will be stuck in rainy, gray Oregon.
AS YOU CAN IMAGINE: I'M VerY EXCITED ABOUT THE TRIP A DREAM COME TRUE FOR ME TO MEET MY COMPASSION CHILDREN AND SEE FIRST HAND WHAT COMPASSION DOES!! but the best thing--------a trip with my awesome beautiful daughter!!!! another dream come true!!!!
