She did it...
Sydney successfully turned 10 and entered a new decade.
Yesterday was the birthday and today was the party (her first with friends!)
We had a quiet day at home, doing a little bit of school and a lot of celebrating. We let the birthday person choose dinner and Sydney chose Chinese food.
Then today was the party. In the past couple years the girls have started asking to have a party. We told Sydney she could when she was 10 and so this was her first party. She invited 6 friends (3 from church and two from violin and one sister). Our destination was a horse stable where the kids could groom and ride horses.
| in keeping with our tradition, Sydney made her cake |
| 6 girls and one boy (hmmm....vaguely reminds me of the Kevin's family....) |
There were 3 different horses the kids could ride, and each kid got the chance to ride each horse.
It was drizzly and only about 40 degrees so we were a little cold. Earlier in the week the weather looked like it was going to be nicer so we planned a picnic for after riding. By the time we lit the candles on the cake, everyone wanted to warm their fingers up by the heat.
I have quite a few more pictures (I think I took 100), so maybe I'll post more tomorrow.
such a fun party!!!! The horses were beautiful!!!!
