Seattle

Since we've been housebound so much the past couple weeks due to pneumonia, we decided to head up to Seattle last Friday and Saturday and explore a bit. We bought a City Pass which allowed us to do and see many things at a deep discount. Here's what we did...

Space Needle....we went up at night. We'd never been up it before and it was a bit overrated. It wasn't crowded, though, so that was night. Our pass would have allowed us another trip up, but none of us were that excited to go up a second time. The best part was the elevator ride up.

The EMP museum (our other option was the zoo...next time I'd pick the zoo). This was ok to see once, but I don't need to see it again. It's mostly a music museum and featured stuff from native Seattle-ites like Jimmy Hendrix and Nirvana.

We walked through a bit of the SAM Olympic Statue Park, but not all of it.

The Aquarium...we'd been there before and it's a pretty nice aquarium. It's built on a pier over the water and they pump sea water into the exhibits.

A harbor boat cruise...it was about an hour long and went up and down the city harbor pointing things out. Then we went over by the industrial/port area which was cool, too.

Our final stop was the Flight Museum...so much to read and see. We didn't see it all because we ran out of time. They have three planes you can walk through...a Concorde, a 787 and the first Air Force One (ridden by JFK).

We did a lot of walking on Friday and Sydney struggled a bit with her energy levels. But it was fun to see and do some new things. Seattle is a fun city - completely different feel than Portland.
