The Tulip Festival

This was our fourth year to attend the tulip festival.  We went first thing Friday morning in hopes of beating the crowds. It was spring break here this past week and the weather was glorious Thursday and Friday. That usually means BIG crowds.

It seems like every time I go I have a new photography focus... two years ago it was pretty cloudy. Last year (and this year) it was very sunny and it's fun to catch the sun through the tulips. But this year there was quite a bit of dew on the tulips and I loved capturing that.

I really want to get a photographer's pass and go without kids. With the photographers pass you get to go in before sunrise and after sunset - after hours so there are minimal crowds. You can also take photography classes which would be cool.

Although this place is an hour away, it only cost me $5 to get in. The girls were free!

One of the highlights for the girls is the mud and this year did not disappoint.

The girls talked me into joining them on the "very bumpy" cow ride. I was the only adult on the ride and after about 10 seconds I completely understood why!
