Sunriver and Sisters

Our main reason for going to Central Oregon this past weekend was for me to run the 1/2 marathon. We decided to stay a few extra days because we love it there so much (don't be surprised when we announce we are moving there). Plus, this time of year, you can rent a house for 4 nights and only pay for 2.

Sunriver is a community about 15 miles south of Bend. There are miles and miles of bikepaths and we love to walk/run/bike there. This time we didn't have our bikes and I didn't feel like running, so we mostly walked.

One of our favorite walks is out to the meadow and horse stables. I didn't edit these photos in any way. The sky was that blue...the clouds were that big and fluffy.

On Monday we headed to Sisters (both a town and the name of three mountains) for an easy hike. My legs were pretty sore and I knew I needed to keep moving to help ease the soreness.

Our destination was Wychus Creek in the Three Sisters Wilderness Area. This particular area suffered a forest fire so our view was a bit different than we are used to.

We were hiking to Chush Falls and at the end of the trail this was all we could see. I knew (from other photos), that these falls were pretty impressive. So even though the signs said not to, we climbed down for a better view.
