Butchart Gardens ~ Part 2

Rose Garden: As you walk to the rose garden, you pass all these beautiful perrenials - so many flowers to look at.

The Rose Garden was very crowded so I didn't get many photos. Plus we were in a hurry to get to the Japanese Garden and still catch our bus on time.

Japanese Garden: Such a peaceful and serene space. It was absolutely beautiful.

There was space between the Japanese Garden and the Italian Garden and that's what is shown in these next few photos...

Ok...this is a garbage can. I think ALL garbage cans should have planters on top and be this beautiful!

Italian Garden: This is the most formal garden and it's beautiful. It was very crowded when we first arrived, but just before we were leaving it had cleared out and I was able to get some pretty good shots without people.

We were running short on time and still had one more garden to see so we didn't spend much time in the "village" (restaurant, courtyard, gift shop)

I'm not sure what this was...I guess it was a green house or pavilion just full of plants and flowers. You could only look in the one window so that's how I got these pics.

Mediterranean Garden: Victoria is considered to have a Mediterranean climate, so this garden was full of plants that thrive in drier conditions. I recognized many of the plants as what we have here...and our summers are pretty dry too.

As we were leaving to get on the bus I noticed several pots of passion flowers. They are so fascinating!

Someday I'd like to go back during a different season and not be so rushed!
