Camp Report and other News...

Camp Koinonia - On Sunday, July 12th, we drove the girls 2 hours south and dropped them off at Camp Koinonia in Sweet Home, OR. We were all a little apprehensive about the situation - the girls have never been away from us for more than a night or two - but there were two other kids from our church at the same camp, so once they arrived the girls seemed a little more excited and relaxed.

We took a walk around the very small grounds and got the girls settled into their "cabin".

Most of the cabins looked like this...

The girls were in "Crow's Nest" which was actually a room above the main lodge.

I took a picture of the daily schedule so I would have an idea what they were up to throughout the day.

We picked them back up on Friday afternoon and they entertained us with stories and camp songs for the entire ride home! Both were very happy to see us when we got there, but they were also sad that camp was ending.

Sunday was "national ice cream day" so we headed into Portland to try some handmade ice cream. I just love capturing sweet moments like this...walking arm in arm.

In other news, the bunnies are doing well.  Not much to report on that subject. They seem to like their home away from home (our friends' house) and will go there for another week when we head to NY.

Kayleigh is working on perfecting her cartwheel technique....

The hummingbirds visit daily...

And it's zucchini season. The bottom one is from my garden. The top (HUGE) one is from the neighbor's garden. I brought it home mostly for the wow factor. I also got 3 more that slightly smaller, but still quite large.

And finally....the weather has cooled down a bit, but still no rain. It's so dry here so when we do find water, we soak in it.

before I go....the girls have started writing new posts on their blogs, so be sure to check them periodically and feel free to leave comments for them. If you see comments from "Jill Foley" it's not really me....I signed into my google account on my mom's computer way back in April and apparently I'm still signed in so all the comments my mom leaves look like they are from me.
