Central Oregon

Last week we had the opportunity to return to one of our favorite places for a few days - Sunriver! We managed to score a deal that allowed us to stay in a house for 3 nights free in exchange for 90 minutes of music for an event.

We played for Bennington Properties -a  home rental place. During the summer they have "yappy hour" at their office and invite their employees and guests to bring their dogs for a bath and play time. They also have Oregon beers and wines and all sorts of snacks for guests to enjoy.

Holly Bennington is the wife and she happens to play violin so I invited her to join us for a few tunes. What you can't tell from this pic is that she is 38 weeks pregnant - her baby bump is perfectly hidden behind the music stand!

Sunriver is so busy in the summer...and they have all sorts of extra activities to spend $ on. The girls each wanted to try this super trampoline thing and so they paid for half and gave it a go. Kayleigh managed to do 2 flips even.

On our way down we were detoured because of the Warm Springs forest fires. As we headed home the road opened up, but we could still see evidence of the fire. I felt like we were in a war zone.

And here you can see how one side of the road had burned while the other hadn't.
