Sydney Grace

Well, she's done it...she's gone and turned 11 years old!

(she doesn't like math so I thought it would be funny to throw a little math into her birthday poem)

Orange and red are currently Sydney's favorite colors, so she woke up to orange flowers next to her bed.


She's also a big fan of Minecraft, so that was the theme of her birthday.
We turned our large photo that hangs above the fireplace into a creeper.

And she planned all sorts of Minecraft snacks for her non-party. We thought it was a little sad that we were the only ones who would enjoy these (and 2 of the 4 of us don't fully appreciate the Minecraft theme), so we arranged for our friends (sisters) to come over for a bit.

On Sunday, we continued our birthday celebrations with a trip to Wings and Waves waterpark in McMinnville, OR. It's next to the big Air Museum and we'd never been. There is a 747 on top of the building, and you can climb up to it and come down one of 4 different waterslides.

The green slide had this big bowl / funnel that you got spit out into and then went around several times. I caught Kevin and Kayleigh each of the three times they went around on this particular ride down.

There is also a wave pool - with a big screen for viewing pleasure. While we were there, there was a football game showing.

And there are a couple other play areas - splash pads, a vortex pool, basketball hoop, spa and a playground structure with water being dumped out of a huge bucket. There is even a water science exhibit upstairs, but we didn't make it up there to check it out.
