Utah ~ more pics

After Broken Arch, we continued on the trail that looped back to the car. We didn't have our map with us and weren't sure how far we'd have to go, but overheard another hiker say that the trail would take us past "tapestry arch" (see below).

We hiked and hiked and hiked....it was beautiful, but Kayleigh's feet were hurting pretty bad, so it wasn't the most enjoyable hike.

Finally we found the main trail that would take us back to our car.

Next we drove to the Fiery Furnace area for some photos. I've heard this is a spectacular hike, but you have to have a guide and a permit. They only allow a certain number of people into this section each day. The trial isn't marked, which is why you need a guide.

Then we drove to Balanced Rock (which we had driven by earlier in the day).

Our final stop for the day was Double Arch. By this time Kayleigh didn't want to walk anymore so just Kevin and I ventured on the short trail to see the double arch.

I took these next two photos from the car as we drove out of the park...these are the courthouse rocks.

We went back to the house to eat and rest and then decided to head back into the park for sunset and to do some star watching. (we don't get to see many stars where we live). The clouds had cleared up and we had a beautiful view of the LaSal mountains.
