My Trip to Virginia

This past weekend I traveled to Charlottesville, VA to visit Aaron and Darren and help celebrate Aaron's 45th birthday. My mom traveled from TX and met me there, so we had a fun time exploring, celebrating and reconnecting.

We arrived Thursday evening...I barely made my connecting flight, but I did and I'm grateful. Had I missed it, I would have had to wait an additional 7 hours for the next flight to Charlottesville. I ran the mile between the gates and arrived just as they were doing a last call for passenger Foley.

Friday was Aaron's birthday and he took the day off work. We walked to downtown Charlottesville. I kept thinking I was in Burlington, VT walking on Church Street, and it turns out the man who designed Church Street also designed a similar street in Charlottesville.

Aaron has an art show coming up so we helped him deliver his set of paintings.

Then we headed to Monticello to visit Thomas Jefferson's home. It's been years since I've been to Monticello and with my love of Hamilton the musical, I have a renewed interest in the founding of our country.
