After Bantry we drove a bit further to Killarney where we stayed the next two nights. It was the only place we were staying more than one night. It's right on the edge of a National Park with quite a few outdoor activities to do, plus it's an easy drive to one of Ireland's most scenic drives...the Ring of Kerry. Unfortunately the weather was awful....stormy and very windy. So windy that there was no way we were driving the coastal ring and so rainy we couldn't really do any of the outdoor stuff (like take a boat trip on the lakes).
We stayed at a nice hotel, but it wasn't within walking distance from the town center so driving and parking complicated things a bit. It was in Killarney that we finally spotted some places with the name Foley. And it was in Killarney that we found some pretty good shops.
This is looking out at the lake, on site ruins and national park from our hotel.
and this is looking back at our hotel
There was quite a bit I wanted to take photos of, but it's not fun getting the camera out in the rain and wind, so most of the time I just opted to forgo photos.
Amazing Places!!!
