Our White Oregon Christmas

Last Saturday, on the eve of Christmas Eve - otherwise known as Christmas Adam, we headed to Hood River in search of snow. We knew it had snowed the night before and we wanted to get in the Christmas spirit and do some last minute shopping.

We weren't very successful with our shopping, but we found a dusting of snow, ate lunch and then headed back home to prepare for church. Kevin was the drummer for all of our Christmas services (Sat night and two Sunday morning services). The girls and I decided to attend the Saturday night service and I'm so glad we did!

It started snowing on Sunday morning - quite a bit, in fact. By the time Kevin got home from church it was turning into a wintry mix and before long there was an icy coating on everything.

It was supposed to warm up overnight and turn to rain, but it never really warmed up. In fact, it still hasn't warmed up enough for everything to have melted. I haven't left the house in 3 day because I don't like driving on ice.

It seems ice storms are becoming more and more common during the winter here in Oregon...I really hope this is the one and only ice storm we get this year.
