One of the most popular tourist attractions in Maui is to drive the Road to Hana. It's a very windy road that hugs the eastern coastline of the island and is where you can find the jungle/rainforest climate.
We'd heard mixed things about whether or not taking the time to drive the whole thing was worth it, but we wanted to see the rainforest so we decided to check it out.
We drove to the rainbow eucalyptus trees, then turned around to head back. It was rainy and crowded and we were short on time.
We also stopped at the Bamboo Forest to check it out...
We stopped to see these parrots. Apparently they are trained and have appeared in several movies. The owner asked if Kayleigh wanted to hold them...she did. After he started putting them on her head, shoulders and hands, he told us that we couldn't take photos unless we gave him a $20 donation.
We also stopped at this lookout and watched some surfers for a bit. The waves were pretty big and there were quite a few people surfing.
Those rainbow trees are fascinating! Too bad it was so rainy and muddy.
