Have you had the privilege of seeing Chihuly's work anywhere? We've seen some of his work in Tacoma, and I've seen photos of his work all around the world, but we had never been to the Chihuly Glass and Garden Museum in Seattle before. I'm so glad we took the time (and spent the money) to go. It was an exhibit I'll never forget.
Inside the museum, most of the display rooms are dark and the glass works are lit up so you can see them better. Also, most of the pieces were sitting on very reflective (dark) surfaces, which added so much to the art.
This particular display is actually the ceiling and it's so cool. If it hadn't been so crowded, I might just have gotten down on the floor and spent a while looking up.
This piece was bright and crazy and huge. The overall display was so big it was impossible to photograph the whole thing.
This particular display might have been my favorite....I just loved the reflection of the piece.
And in this room, most of the pieces were hanging from the ceiling...each one was so unique and beautiful.
Breathtaking!!
