Compassion Sunday

Every year, Compassion International has a nation-wide campaign called "Compassion Sunday"...today is the official day and there were hundreds of churches around the country participating. The idea is for sponsors and advocates to speak up and bring Compassion's ministry into their churches. I did a presentation with another sponsor at Faribault Evangelical Free Church today. We had 4 children sponsored with several other inquiries! It's always wonderful to see another child sponsored. My experience with Compassion the past 15 years has been so positive and I love sharing this amazing experience with other people.

This is our table set up from earlier today.

Below are some recent pictures of some of our sponsored children. We recieved these new photos just this week! This is Cristine....she is 13 and lives in the Philippines. We have sponsored her for several years and get many, many letters from her! I love getting new photos so I can see how much they have grown up.

Portia is our most recently sponsored child...she and I share a birthday, and she was my "birthday present" this past year. She is 7 and lives in Ghana. In February, another advocate from this area was able to go on a Compassion trip to Ghana and Burkina Faso. I was able to send this bag of goodies for Portia, and this is a picture of Portia with our gift!

This is Ayon from India. He is 8. In addition to the six children we sponsor, I am a correspondent to six more. Sometimes children are sponsored by organizations or buisinesses and do not have someone writing to them, creating a relationship with them. That's where correspondents come in. Ayon is one of the children that I am blessed with the opportunity to write to.

I don't want to overwhelm you with photos of all our other children...perhaps I will share them when I get updated ones.
