Yesterday we drove 2 hours north west to Houghton...home of Michigan Tech. They have an annual winter carnival and we heard the snow sculptures were worth seeing. It was a pretty warm day (in the 30s) so they were a little melted. But they were still very cool. They were all over campus and I took pictures of some of the more impressive ones.
Here is one of the bigger ones we saw....first is the overall view and then some more detailed pictures.
And here was another one...
Way cool...thanks for driving over and taking the pictures! Ok, I know you didn't do it for me! I was just talking to Mark yesterday about the Winter Carnival and couldn't remember exactly what week it was. I want to come up some winter and see the sculptures.
ReplyDeleteThat's crazy all the work that was put into something that will melt, but really neat to see. I bet it was a lot "cooler" to see in person!
ReplyDeleteNice joke Abbie, so funny! I have never seen anything like that before, that is really cool. The pictures are great!
