Finally...my last Oregon post. On Monday, while Kevin was back interviewing, the girls and I ventured to the Oregon Zoo. We had lots of fun and saw lots of neat animals.
This guy was so cool...Malaysian Sun Bear
Lorikeet birds...you could feed them juice out of a cup and one of them snatched the cup out of my hands. I tried to get it back, but it nipped at me! Fiesty little fellow! Sydney thought it was hilarious and still says it was her favorite part of the zoo.
We took a train ride through the zoo
In the African exhibit we saw Giraffes...
Zebras...
Hippos...when we first got to the hippos, one was standing outside of the water. It was cool to see how big he was. Of course, by the time I got my camera out and ready, he was in the water.
This animal (can't remember it's name) stands straight up like this to eat the leaves off the trees.
Here are the girls "basking" in the sun (basking is Sydney's word!)
And here are my two birds, sitting in their nest.
The zoo had a farm area and it was the last thing we visited. Sydney loved petting the goats and Kayleigh, being our not so brave child, was terrified.
We created our own "zoo" to play with when we got home
Ok the bear - I want to snuggle him!! And the birds...I had to do a double take! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteBTW - if you haven't seen the announcement yet, watch CNN.com Live at 3:30 for an interview with Jordan Foxworthy :)
Looks like you all had a fun time at the zoo. I love the birds! The zoo of your own is pretty cool too...way to be creative!
ReplyDeleteThe zoo looks like so much fun. I love that bear and the animal standing up to eat, WOW!
