Weekend Update

We had a great, fun-filled weekend. Grandma and Grandpa Redman were still in town, so Kevin and I went out on a date Friday night. We ate at an excellent Japanese restaurant in Portland's Pearl District. Then Saturday we headed east through the Columbia River to Hood River. It was the harvest festival weekend and we hit quite a few fruit farms and vineyards. We even got to see an incredible, full-arch rainbow! It was beautiful!

On Sunday, after church, we headed to Wildwood Recreation Area for a hike along the Salmon River. It was beautiful and we were not disappointed. We didn't see any salmon swimming up the river to spawn, but Kevin caught this dead one!

After our hike we started driving closer to Mt. Hood. The skies were clearing up and we got some great views of the top...but by the time we got to Timberline Lodge, the clouds were in front of the Mountain again. We still got to see some beautiful views of the valley below and the girls had fun throwing snowballs.
