Weekend Hikes

On Saturday we set out looking for some snow...we crossed the mighty Columbia River and ventured into the state of Washington. We found a nice little hike with a little snow - enough to get the girls excited anyway! As we were walking, I was reminded of our many snow hikes in the UP last year! (Sidenote: apparantly this is "pink" year...last year was "purple" year. I really do NOT plan this...just sort of happens through bargain finds and hand-me-downs!)

Some of the views we saw on the drive there and back...

Sunday we drove south to the Willamette Valley, where vineyards are abundant. Our destination was the Baskett Slough Wildlife Refuge area. It was a nice walk (a bit muddy this time of year) and we look forward to going back when there are leaves on the trees (and grapes on the vines!) We saw several deer that were not one bit concerned that we were so near.

  1. What cute little pink "angels" making angels in the snow! Looks like fun!
