We are so fortunate to live near a city that offers great educational programs. You may remember that earlier this year we went to Symphony Storytime at the library. Each week a member of the Oregon Symphony would bring their instrument and add music to the stories the librarian read.
This year we are participating in another Oregon Symphony educational opportunity - Kinderconzerts. These are held 4 times throughout the school year at local schools. Yesterday we went to string one and got to hear a string quintet play. There weren't very many people at this particular concert, so we really got to interact with the symphony players.
They had a 1/2 size violin and asked if any of the kids played. Sydney said yes and agreed to play Twinkle for them. I was so proud! I wish I had thought to take the movie sooner so you could hear the cellist accompany her. I only got a short clip at the end.
