Camping

We went camping this weekend. I wasn't too enthusiastic about the idea, but it turned out to be nice. We went to a campground that is mostly used by rafters on the Deschutes River. (1.5 hours south east - mostly east of where we live). We arrived early so we could get a good spot and we noticed a group of rafters packing up. They had a great campsite right on the river, so we waited and set up our own camp when they left. The campground wasn't overly crowded and our site was the only one on the river, so it was nice and quiet.

The surrounding scenery was quite beautiful....

We took a walk to kill some time. There weren't any trails to hike, but we walked along a gravel access road that follows the rivers. While we were walking the wind picked up quite a bit - we weren't sure if a storm was rolling in or what - and when we got back to our campground, we noticed our tent had blown away. Thankfully there were trees that stopped it, or it would have been gone for good (with our sleeping bags, pillows and mats inside!)

Our site was right on the river and there was this nice little beach the girls had fun playing at.
