Wild Pacific Trail

Sunday morning in Ucluelet, we woke to rain. I was feeling pretty frustrated with our trip and was close to tears and ready to throw in the towel. Thankfully, the skies opened up and the sun came out. We ended up with a gorgeous day and set off to walk the Wild Pacific Trail.

We saw quite a few slugs at the beginning. Just to give you a glimpse of their size, I had Kay put her hand next to this one.

The views all along the trail were gorgeous and I took quite a few pictures.

We stopped for lunch at this spot. Kevin is on top of the rock where we ate. When he first climbed up there, he looked out at the ocean to see if he could see any whales. Almost immediately he spotted a pod of orcas. I quickly joined him and we watched them for quite a while with our binoculars.

We were quite excited to see whales - even if they were far away. We had been so disappointed that we couldn't go whale watching, so this was a highlight.
