Adventureless Weekend

I don't have much to report about the weekend....mommy (me) was sick.

Kevin and I had a fantastic date planned for Friday afternoon/evening. He got home from work early, we had a great babysitter and we headed out for 7 hours of alone time. We hit the rock climbing gym first. We both ran out of steam after an hour so we cleaned up and hit the mall. It was crazy busy and within 15 minutes we realized that we hate the mall.

So we headed back to another shopping area near the rock climbing gym. We put our names in at P.F. Chang's (quite possibly my favorite restaraunt) and then tried to finish our Christmas shopping.

It was fun, but as the night wore on my cough (that I've been battling for an entire week now) was worsening. By the time we got home, I was ready to crawl into bed for the weekend. And that's basically what I did.

Kevin, being the awesome husband and dad that he is, totally took over and had the girls out of the house as much as possible so I could rest. After the girls' Christmas musical practice, they headed into the woods to revisit an old fort we built last February. It's our private day camping spot.

They also found a cave to explore.

Then on Sunday, after church, Kevin and the girls went with others from our church to a local nursing home and sang Christmas carols. We did this last year and it was fun. I stayed home and read more of Don Quixote (his adventures never seem to end....)

What did you do this weekend?
