We went for a short hike today, but spent most of the day in the woods. We decided to look for a spot and simulate a day-camping experience.

We practiced building a shelter out of sticks and branches.
We built a fire to keep warm and cook our meal.
Sydney found a ladybug and she was more interested in the ladybug than her meal.

We snapped this family picture and it turned out pretty good! It would have been a good picture for the Christmas letter.
