Today has been a somber day as we have mourned the passing of Grandpa Paul - Kevin's grandpa. Even when death is expected you can never really be ready for it and the for flood emotions that come with the finality of it all.
And it's extremely hard being thousands of miles away at times like this.
He was a great man who took so much pride in his family and he'll be missed greatly. I'll dig around in my photos later this week and see if I can find some favorite photos of Grandpa to post.

And now on to much less important things.
Saturday morning in Bend there was a 5K race I participated in. While waiting for the race to begin, the girls got to play "onion ring toss" with Red Robin.
Apparently the thought of running really makes me mad. After seeing all these photos of myself, I realize I need to make an effort to LOOK happier. I'm not generally in a bad mood, but I often look like I am!
I finished with my best 5K time so far - 25:27. I finished 27th out of 353 participants - not bad!
On our way out of the parking lot we saw this little guy - a yellow-bellied marmot. Thanks to our new camera with a nice zoom lens, we got these great pictures!
I'm so sorry to hear about Grandpa Paul.
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat little marmot! So cute. I don't think I've ever seen one. Did you get another new camera??? What kind? Love the pictures. Awesome finish in the race!!!
So sad for Kevin and his family. Grandpa was a wonderful man!!! hugs to you all.
ReplyDeleteProud of you Jill. Great race!!!
Sorry for your loss! I will look forward to seeing some pictures of Grandpa Paul!
ReplyDeleteYou don't look mad...just like you are ready to kick 326 peoples' behinds! Congrats on your best time yet!
