I never thought that at age 38 I could sing the song "All I want for Christmas is my front tooth....", but this year I could and it really is all I wanted.
Not having a front tooth has been a challenge. Sure, I had a dental partial I could wear (I actually had more than one option), but it was very uncomfortable. Last week at my check up things were looking good enough for the dentist to consider putting the crown on sooner. He told me to come back in 3 weeks.
Well....when they went to schedule me, the only thing available was 2 weeks away (instead of 3). Fine with me!
Well....I got a call on Tuesday saying they made a mistake and the dentist was NOT available that day (Dec. 14), but they had an opening for today.
So here I am - 7 weeks ahead of schedule - with a new crown!
I'm a bit sore today (there was a lot of pushing and manipulating tissue) but it's lovely to have this ordeal behind me. Hopefully it's the last dental procedure I have to endure for quite a while. I'm not allowed to bite into anything with it for about 2 months, but it's permanent and won't fly out of my mouth when I sneeze.
PRAISE THE LORD!!!!
