Last year the girls and I went to a couple of our neighbor's houses to play Christmas carols. It seemed to be a big hit and a couple neighbors have asked if we were doing it again and so yesterday we did. It's our own personal twist on caroling, and this year the girls are MUCH better!
It's such a joy for me to teach my girls to share their music with others, and also to be able to join in and play with them - it makes this mama's heart very happy!
A couple times we've found ourselves places and I've thought (or actually said), "Too bad we don't have our violins". Well, today we surprised a few more people - people who know we do this and who have suggested they would like to hear. We serenaded the ladies at the post office (whom we see almost weekly!) and the woman who cuts my hair.
Then we were headed to the bank and grocery store. When we walked in I asked the Salvation Army bell ringer if he'd like a little accompaniment. After clearing it with store manager, we played a few songs then headed to the other bell ringer at the other entrance.
Hopefully it wasn't obnoxious - just a few minutes of Christmas cheer.
People did seem impressed that the girls played so well! And my heart was so happy to see the people smile and enjoy the music.
That is what Christmas is all about GIVING of yourself and your talents. JESUS gave HIMSELF for us!!!

How could sharing your gifts ever be obnoxious-especially with our beautiful Sydney & Kayleigh doing the sharing? Can you imagine how many hearts they're touching?
