Thanksgiving

We had a lovely Thanksgiving here....we had a very relaxing day with time for work, play and exercise.

Then in the late afternoon our guests arrived. We had a couple from church, Anthony and Tasia, and also Marlennis and her boyfriend, Ariel.

Marlennis and Ariel are students here at the local community college - studying environmental technology. Marlennis is from the Dominican Republic and Ariel is from Honduras. I met Marlennis through Compassion as she was sponsored as a child.

The day after Thanksgiving we got new carpet installed in the house. In the morning while we were waiting for the carpet guys to show up I was looking through my instagram feed and saw there was a Macy's Day parade in Portland that was starting in an hour. Kevin and the girls went and had fun. It was a much better parade than the small town one we went to this past summer. I stayed home all day, confined to the kitchen and living room!

The installation started later than we thought and lasted longer than we'd hoped. Finally at 7 pm they were done and we were able to move our stuff back into our rooms.

The carpet looks great and is really soft...I'll post pics later when the lighting is better!
